The Club has re-opened with normal hours of operation. Please stay home if you feel unwell.

The Halton Naval Veterans Association (HNVA) was formed in 1989 and was incorporated on September 24, 1991. Our objectives are to uphold the Naval Traditions of the Canadian Navy as well as all branches of the Canadian Forces which includes the Army, Airforce and the Merchant Navy. We also set an objective of providing a gathering place for members of the public to come to our club and enjoy an outing in a friendly and social atmosphere. We also offer membership to members of the public provided they are sponsored by two members of the HNVA that are in good standing. Since our inception we have, as a licensed Ontario Non- Profit Organization, donated several thousands of dollars in funding to other charitable organizations within our community and in some cases across Canada.

who are we?

We originally were a group of Naval Veterans who were seeking a location where we could meet and enjoy an atmosphere of fun and comadrie where we felt at home telling our stories discussing some of our problems that were common to all of us after we had left the Canadian Forces. This eventually led to the inclusion of our families and friends. Word got around that this was an excellent place for other members of the public to relax and enjoy a
pleasant atmosphere where the price of beverages were extremely low by normal standards. We subsequently included a completely equipped kitchen where food was also provided at very low prices.
Many of our members and other members of the public began having parties, banquets and other delightful events at our club. Recently, our weekly Burl-Oak Naval Veteran’s meeting was featured on YourTV Halton.

What do we do?

We provide members of the local communities of Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton, with a place to relax
and enjoy themselves in a smoke free and family friendly environment. This is a location where individuals
and families can enjoy a meal and a beverage at a very affordable price. As mentioned, since our inception as licensed Ontario Non- Profit Organization, we have donated several thousands of dollars in funding to other charitable organizations within our community and in some cases across Canada.

History

A group of approximately 150 Naval Veterans who were part of the Burlington Unit of the Royal Canadian Naval Association, decided to strike out on their own and they formed the Halton Naval Veterans Association (HNVA). They expanded to include members of the public making this a great place to congregate for social events. Although the number of Veterans has declined over the past years due to attrition, we still currently have over 40 Veterans registered as members of our HNVA. This not only includes Naval Veterans but Veterans from all of the branches of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).

how to become a member?

Membership in the Halton Naval Veterans Association (HNVA) is open to members of the general public as well as any Veterans and currently serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). They must be sponsored by two members of the HNVA who are in good standing. Applications are available at the bar. The membership fee is currently $25.00 annually per person and must be paid at the time of submitting your application.
